Personality[]
Velvet is known to be quiet and slightly meek in nature. Preferring to keep to herself either choice or because she is afraid of those judging because she is a Faunus. Even when being picked on by others, she tends to act very reservedly and refuses to fight back as shown when she was being bullied by Cardin Winchester and his team. Another example of her shyness and hesitation was during Bartholomew Oobleck's class when he asked if any students had been discriminated against for being Faunus, she was hesitant to even raise her hand and only did so after seeing another classmate raise their hand first. This shyness also appears extend to crowds and screaming in fright when Minoru Mineta tried grab her.
Though she appears to have some judgmental qualities herself as she looks at humans from the Kingdom of Mistral in a negative light most likely due it's past and current treatment of it's Faunus population. As such she treated Yatsuhashi Daichi coldly at first due to hailing from there but eventually warmed to him up realizing she was wrong.
Though she is around her team Velvet displays much more sassiness in comparison to her usual shyness around others. She also appears to display more confidence to her friends such Team RWBY and happily gives advice due to being their upperclassmen.
History (RWBY Series)[]
Velvet was born in the Kingdom of Vale to Will Scarlatina a Human scientist from the Kingdom of Atlas and Meg Scarlatina a Faunus. Her family frequently moved due her father's job. At some point in her childhood her parents divorced due different views on the world.
She often spent summer in Atlas with her father, during one summer she built Anesidora prior to enrolment Pharos Academy. Her father found the weapon amazing to a point that he wished to show it off to James Ironwood.
During her time at Pharos Academy along with Coco Adel whom she admire from distance after graduating from Pharos she enrolled at Beacon Academy along with Coco.

- Velvet's Japanese VA is Megumi Han who voices Penny Polendina, Gon Freecss, Cluck and Yasuha in Hunter X Hunter, Young Obito Uchiha, Saya and Yome in Naruto, Tatami Nakagame in My Hero Academia, Tama in One Piece.
- Velvet shares the same birthday with Karui, Ayame and Ms. Valentine.
