Personality[]
Charlotte is calm, quiet and indifferent woman who for the most part hides her true emotions for most of time. He is constantly shown to appear as a rather stern woman, despite inwardly having an inward monologue that constantly appears to say calm down, especially around Yami Sukehiro. She often does not respond to situations that go out of hand, preferring to appear indifferent and let things play out. She takes her position of Captain and Magic Knight seriously responding to emergencies swiftly as well most of duties. However, she still is capable of losing her composure and becoming annoyed, which almost always involves Yami teasing of her.
She also cannot handle alcohol well and is quite the lightweight.
She takes her role Magic Knight as top priority with little time for social aspects of life. She knows that she quit and when she chooses to show off, however she feels more comfortable in plate mail than silk dresses, and cares little for the opinions of most others. She also has a hard time being open with most people and expressing herself on occasion. That said, she often quips back at her fellow captains when they make rash decisions or do something she considers stupid, particularly Yami. However, she also has admiration for those who are competent and work hard, though she rarely ever shows it. She has little interest in finding a husband, becoming angry when the subject is brought up and claiming that "The battlefield is my only lover", which Yami repeatedly teases her over, by calling her a thorny tsundere princess.
While it is unknown why she dislikes most men per her squad's beliefs, despite this she has feelings for Yami despite treating him harshly sometimes. She also has respect for men who have earned it, such as The Wizard King.
History (Black Clover)[]
Charlotte Roselei was born into noble House Roselei in the Clover Kingdom. When she was a child, she was cursed when she turns 18 years old, she and her family will be trapped in a cage of time. Charlotte resolves to become strong enough to break the curse herself. She later becomes a Magic Knight joining the Blue Rose Squad. However, she fails to break the curse and as Charlotte surrenders to the overflowing magic, Yami Sukehiro cuts through the briars and chastises her for relying only on herself. At that point, the curse is stopped and dissolves because Yami stole her heart.
At some point she and her squad save a town from rogue mages at which she saved the life of Sol Marron who was inspired that she became a Magic Knight herself joining her squad.
